Our Missionary Spirituality

Prayer

Our prayer life should express the characteristics of our Claretian spiritual heritage, especially our missionary identity, in keeping with the guidelines of the Church.

Among the characteristic elements inherited from our Founder, Saint Anthony Mary Claret, to give us life for our mission, are the following:

1) A Christ-Centered Life
2) Devotion to the Eucharistic
3) Love for the Word of God
4) Commitment to Mary as Mother, Model of Discipleship, Faithful Servant of the Word, and the Heart of our Mission
5) Being Sent as a Missionary and Servant of the Gospel
6) Devotion to the Apostles and Saints especially known for their apostolic zeal
7) Compassion and Commitment to the Poor and Oppressed

Let Us Pray

Reading: Mark 10:42-45

Reflection Questions:
1) Toward what way of service to others do I see God's light directing me at this moment in my life?
2) What forces of darkness at times conceal God's light from me?
3) How can I respond to God's love and the call of discipleship today?

I ask you, Lord, Send me your Spirit to enlighten me, as it did Saint Anthony Claret, and enkindle your love within my heart, to guide and lead me along the true path of Jesus Christ. May the light of your Word shatter all darkness and fear from my life and lead me to the brightness of your peace, joy and love-now and forever, through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Our Marion Spirituality

Our prophetic lifestyle receives a distinctive imprint from the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Mother of the Congregation. She teaches us that without heart, without tenderness, without love, there is no credible prophecy. Mary uttered the Word (cf. Luke 1:38) because she had first conceived it in her heart; she proclaimed her prophetic Magnificat (cf. Luke 1:46-55) because she had first believed; she stood near the Cross and was present at Pentecost because she was the good earth that welcomed the Word with a glad heart, made it bear fruit a hundred fold (cf. Luke 8:8,15,21) and asked others to do whatever the Word told them (John 2:5).

Like our Founder, we consider Mary our primary Formator in our imitation of her Son and in our commitment to fidelity as Servants of the Word.

Our Euchrisitic Spirituality

As Claretian Missionaries we honor the Lord by daily celebrating the mystery of the Eucharist. Being in communion with Christ is central to our missionary spirituality.

We are sent from the Table of Our Lord as Servants of His Word. We strive by using all means possible to bring Good News of God's Reign of love, justice, and peace to all of Creation.

To always be strengthened for our mission we should wholeheartedly cherish our conversation with Jesus Christ by always visiting and worshipping him in the Blessed Sacrament.
